We all take precautions in case we have to be quarantined, isolated, or become sick.
But what about our animals? What do we really need to have at home for them if we are isolated?
We are going through a time in history that we probably never thought we would go through. The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly changed our work, our relationships and even the way we see the world.
Medication:
- First of all, if your pet has a chronic illness and is often on medication, you should always have at least the amount of medication needed for two weeks.
Food:
- In terms of food, although some companies make home deliveries, we must also have the quantity corresponding to two weeks as deliveries can often take longer than normal.
For cat owners, this also applies to the litter they usually use.
Routines:
- If your routine has not been significantly changed by the states of exception that we have been going through and you maintain the routine of going to work every day, it may be important to have some products at home that can help our animals adapt, in case we have to go home, namely Feliway®, Adaptil® or PetRemedy®.
The fact that we have to go home, with a change in routine, can cause stress in our animals and these products can help prevent pathologies that are caused by stress such as feline idiopathic cystitis in cats or behavioural changes in dogs.
If you live alone, it is important to have someone you trust who can take care of your animal if your situation worsens and you require hospitalisation, for example.
They are part of our family, so we must always count on them and their needs at this time.
