Welcoming an animal into your home is a very important decision.
\n<\/span><\/h3>\n

It must be made consciously and we must take into account the type of animal we are adopting in relation to our lifestyle.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our schedules<\/strong> and routines have to be adapted to the new member of the family.
\nEven the family budget<\/strong> must be taken into account. In addition to food, more regular veterinary care is needed at an early stage and we must be prepared for any mishaps that may occur.<\/p>\n

Adopting cats<\/a><\/h3>\n

When adopting a feline we should bear in mind that although they don’t need daily walks, they do need to play and expend energy.<\/p>\n

One way to stimulate a cat’s natural behaviour is to have several feeding places in the house so that they can \u2018snack\u2019 several times and look for their food.
\nCats like high, well-lit areas. Providing resting places near windows and facilitating access to high levels is a way of maintaining their activity and well-being.
\nNote that litter trays should always be placed away from food and water, and even water and food should be kept away.<\/p>\n

Dog adoption<\/h3>\n

When we talk about adopting a puppy or even an adult dog, we have to be prepared to change our routine.
\nIf leaving home for work used to take 30 minutes, we have to be prepared for it to take twice as long.<\/p>\n

Dogs usually have two or three meals a day and at least three walks. It’s important to adapt the length, intensity and number of walks to the type of animal.
\nFor example, an animal with a lot of energy needs to run and walk for longer.<\/p>\n

Socialisation is another important factor in the growth and development of a puppy’s personality. Interacting with their peers and knowing how to adapt their behaviour to different situations contributes to having a balanced adult dog without a tendency towards aggression.<\/p>\n

When you’re thinking of adopting an animal, check with a vet and try to get them to help you adapt the type of animal, breed, size or age to your personality and family reality.
\n<\/span>Adopting in good conscience after weighing up the pros and cons helps to anticipate unpleasant future situations.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nowadays a dog can live for around 15 years and cats for up to 20 years.
\nAdoption is not a momentary act, it has repercussions for your personal and family future.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
